Wrestling Begins

For those students interested in T-Bird wrestling, we offer the traditional high school “Folkstyle” wrestling.  Practice started last Monday, the 3rd.  It’s not too late to start, however.  All you need is an up-to-date physical evaluation from your doctor, and a parent permission form filled out and returned to Coach Greco or the Athletic Office before you start.  Headgear and knee pads will be provided.  We will have a Dick Pond representative at school on Wednesday, November 12th.  Students will be able to purchase wrestling shoes, kneepads, singlets, and headgear from the representative.  Please bring cash or check made payable to Dick Pond Athletics.

Basketball Tryouts

For those students interested in trying out for the basketball team, make sure you have an up-to-date physical and a parent permission form signed and turned in to Mr. Knight or the Athletic Office.  Tryouts for Varsity/JV will start Wednesday, November 12th at 3:45 in the Main Gym.  Tryouts for Sophomores and Freshmen will also be November 12th at 3:45, but in the West Gym.

Bowling

For anyone interested in some T-Bird or Pink Lady bowling, tryouts start Wednesday, November 19th at 4:30 at Lebowski Lanes.  Have an up-to-date physical and a parent permission form in the Athletic Office.  BYOB (bring your own ball) or you can rent shoes and balls at the lanes.

Thanksgiving Break

As most of you know, Thanksgiving is right around the corner.  It is a time to give thanks for everything that you have in your life.  Rydell High celebrates this holiday by giving you and your student time to spend with your families.  School will be closed on Thursday, November 27th and Friday, November 28th.  School will resume Monday, December 1st.  Find out from your coaches if you have practice on Friday.

Parent Teacher Conferences

You might notice that your students not only get two days off for the holiday, but due to the scheduling of Parent Teacher Conferences, your student also gets to enjoy two half-days during the week, on Tuesday the 23rd and Wednesday the 24th.  School will get let out at 12:10, and conferences will start at 4:00 pm and will run until around 6:00 pm on each of the two days. Please contact the Administration office for your schedule of PTC’s.

Senior Pictures

For those of you seniors who have not gotten the opportunity to capture your pretty face on film, the deadline do take or retake your photo is Friday, November 21st.  You can find the proper forms at the Administration Office.
